I have new bits with aurigan and they've stayed shiny with little effort. I bought a used one and try as I might, I can't get it shiny. It laughed at Diamond Paste.

Any suggestions?

I bought a used KK eggbutt, and it shined right up with Nevr-Dull wadding paste.
