Sadly no, I'm at work.

BUT...could you check out a horse for me. Its a 6yo Kathy Priest's "Relience" Its out of a mare name Gesstine ( I believe the sire is Rhodiamant). Any way, I have a mare (who I LOVE) named Gesstenia who is out of Gesstine by De Niro.

My horses stable name is "Tia" so TIA:)

Wish I could have made it over to see Elizabeth Ball's ride in the 5 yr. old prelim. I have always wanted to see her ride, and her score in this ride was 82.8.

I'm here- been here since Tuesday actually (long haul in from MD LOL!). Anyway, watched the 5 year olds go- some really amazing rides: Louise, Beth and Emily!!! and the 6 year olds- not as impressive as a whole like the 5 year olds, but some great rides too. Can't wait till the Developing Horse classes start tomorrow!

If anyone wants to me another COTHer, I'll be up at the ring with a camera permanently attached to me and a green shirt:)

What happened with Relience? (I saw his score - YIKES) I'm pretty sure that he was reserve champion as a 4 yo (thats how I heard about him from a article that listed his mothers name). So he can be impressive. Was he naughty?

A number of horses are having a tough time with the footing. Although Lamplight always does a great job in maintaining it, the rain has really taken a toll. Hopefully, we will be rain free tonight so that tomorrow's conditions will be better.

So far so good with no new rain today- hopefully that luck will hold through the night.
Just thought I'd share a couple of today's photos:

What happened to the live scoring? There's suddenly nothing listed for Sunday.

Tabula - keep your wonderful pictures coming! They're awesome. Maybe you can get one or two of JJ Tate?

TIA

what a nice show!! I was scared it was going to rain more on Saturday... def. not needed after all the rain earlier in the week.

There were a few really nice young horses that went, and Hilda did a great job judging I think... it as mostly fair. I could have done without the loud music by the young horse ring... not the easiest to deal with for the youngins!

all in all.. a nice show for late August!

Just came back from the Young Horse Championships at Lamplight and must say that the one horse that stood out above everybody else was Selten HW! What a classy horse!

Had two of my "kids" in the show - Zorba S. E. in the 5-year olds finished 10th and Waterloo S. E. in the 6-year old in 5th place. So I'm a very happy mom!!

Oh thank you so much, congratulations to all, what an excitement.

Siegi, congratulations to you, that is awesome that your kids did so well!

I had Hudson in there, he was competing with Nancy Smith and they came in 7th in the 5 year old classes and she had just purchased him recently via HWfarm, they are a new pair.

Elizabeth Ball and Selten HW were quite new to each other too, he arrived in June at her place in CA, even better that they were such a phenomenal team already. Thanks need to go out to Michael Bragdell too, he had properly prepared this boy from small on, I am thankful to everybody whom helped, Hilltop Farms, Hassler Dressage, Scott Hassler, Chris Hickey, Beth and more.

We know Louie and think he's very cool! Turning into such a handsome and talented grown-up guy now. Very excited for Amy Miller, she is a delightful person and very dedicated to her horses. Congrats!

I LOVED SELTEN!! WOW! What an incredible group of horses that were there, lots of young dressage eye candy with lots of elegant riders. As the rider of the 4yr old champion Aesthete, I was honored to be among such top notch horses and riders and look forward to next year and seeing what the future holds for all. Sandro Hit was very well represented. The horses Steinway and Sabati and the 2nd placed stallion in the 5yr old class( cant rember his name at this moment) were so elegant and correct. The facility was great and the folks were friendly and accomodating. I cant wait for next year!!!!! Karen Monks Reilly

Congratulations! Your horse is so lovely!

The 5 year old you mentioned - I believe it was San Shivago

Yes, San Schivago..awesome. I loved the harmony between horse and rider, they were both so content with each other every step of the way. The horse lacked the energy he had the first day, but even tired he was willing and expressive. Cant wait to see those horses develop. KMR

Karen, I am local to you and just want to congratulate you on your 4 Year Old Championship. You are truly an inspiration. A wife, mother and a great young horse trainer. I read your article in Dressage Daily and saw the video on YouTube. Awesome. I will look forward to seeing you and Aesthete next year when you compete him in the 5 year olds.

Aesthete was definitely one of my favorites with three good gaits and a very uphill way of going (to use one of Linda Z's favorite phrases! :)). Besides all that he is Dutch! Great job, Karen!

Thanks Maude and Sigi! It was an honor to be there and of course an honor to ride this wonderful horse. Thanks you for the kind words. I look forward to Devon, Stately (Aesthete) was very tired in his test in IL and is more electric than he was that day..(Im not complaining mind you!) Maude..balancing the blessings in my life is a constant challenge! Im grateful everyday for my husband and my employers who allow me to live my dream without sacrificing time with my children. As I start my young horse training business, Im thinking of calling it Well Balanced Dressage...to reflect the balance of family and Dressage etc! The logo could be a scale with me and the family on one half and a Dressage horse on the other! KMR
