I need COTHs help on this please. I have a 6 1/2, 4 1/2 and 3 year old nieces and nephew that want to start in riding lessons. Can anyone tell me (also feel free to PM) any good instructors, lessons barns or show barns in the area that I can tell my sister about. They live in Paris, KY but would be willing to travel to Lexington or?... They are a very horsey family so the kids are extremely comfortable around any animals. They can sit on the ponies at their house but otherwise my sister only has race horses and a TB breeding operation. Any help would be SO appreciated. They would also like to get into showing (leadline, preshort, etc) THANK YOU :)

If you can get out to Versailles, KY, I'd recommend Bally High. A real good number of lesson horses, and Tamie Irby is fantastic with the little 'uns.

There's already a Lexington-area thread on this forums; this may be useful:

I second this (of course...hi Pony+!) but Versailles may be a bit of a hike from Paris. Nori's place (Scheffelridge Farm...google it to find the address I can't remember it) may be a good bet as she has lots of tots. Not a fancy barn (more 4H-y) by any means but prob be good for little kids to start out. If she can stand the drive though, Ballyhigh for sure!

You have a PM. Look up Linda Konst with Sandhill Farm. Not sure how much she's teaching these days but if she's still teaching, she's an EXCELLENT instructor.

You guys are wonderful! Thank you and if anyone has any more names and numbers I would really appreciate it. They have saddles, stirrups, leathers, ponies to sit on to practice at home but as we know the instruction is everything and moms can't teach their own kids! So again thank you and any other ideas would be wonderful.
