Is it possible? I just bought a new saddle but I don't want to give up my nice soft KL leathers if I don't have to. How much damage does regular leather do to calfskin?

Not more than it would to any other saddle. If you clean and condition your saddle and leathers often enough, it shouldn't look any worse than the usual "damage" it would do to any other saddle. I use regular leathers on my all calfskin devoucoux, because as much as I'd like calfskin leathers, they're probably out of my price range and I'm worried they'd be too weak and snap or something

If your leathers are soft, they shouldn't do any harm. However, if they have been worn down to the point where there is more stitching on them than leather, you might do well to replace them, as they will scratch up the calfskin. I had to give up my beloved Lundmark leathers, which have been restitched three times since I bought them back when I was in short boots and garters, for this reason. Perhaps new they wouldn't have caused any damage.
