View Full Version : Using 5-day fenben- if they're going to colic, when would that occur?

I'm finally getting around to doing the liquid fenben thing, and I've read that some horses can get a little colicky. So, if a horse is going to get a tummyache, when exactly are they likely to do that? During the 5 day treatment? (And if they do, do you keep administering the fenben?) Or after they've been dosed and all the worms are exiting their systems? Is it ok to give a little banamine if they are uncomfortable? (Of course, vet is on speed dial.)

Not anticipating any issues, but I just want to be prepared and get an idea of when I need to do a few extra barn checks.

Thanks!

14 days after the last day of treatment IIRC. They can colic anytime during, but most of the signs happen 14 days later.
