I was reading the Waredaca results, and saw a horse named "Just Fun Stuff" ridden by Beth Rahn in a novice division. Is that the same "Just Fun Stuff" that ran Rolex a couple years ago and then had a bad fall??, or is that a different horse that happens to have the same name???? (betting that it's 'B')

Didn't he break a shoulder or something (at Fair Hill, can't remember), and wasn't he at serious risk of being put down? Dang.

He fractured his Scapula, after very careful rehab he is back in full effect. From my understanding he is on a lease from Melissa to Beth and they are having a wonderful time together !!!

Funny story, I bumped into them schooling X-C up my way at a local park probably about a month ago ..We were having some ditch issues and here they come up over the hill and Fun justs pops right over it ...I silently giggled as I would hope he would jump a ditch no questions asked

I was wondering the same when I looked at the results. He was a really cool horse and I am glad he is back in action.

For every contentious thread you read here about stewardship for horses and responsibility and making the horse come first, we should remember stories like this one. Stuff's rehab was no doubt labor, sanity and $$ intensive, and he's presumably unlikely to event at the upper levels again, but Melissa and the folks at Windchase have made the effort and investment in him to bring him back to health and work nonetheless.

Hooray for them.

Melissa is a seriously class-act horseman and person, and adores him. I am certain that he got just tremendous care and attention during his rehab! How super to see him back out doing his thing, and what a testament to her (and the Windchase team's) hard work and dedication.

I wasn't familiar with his story, but hearing it now makes me smile :D. Very cool.

I saw that too, and I'm so glad for Fun, Melissa, and his new rider.

Melissa was there riding and helping Beth and it is clear that Beth adores the horse and he still has a fan club (of which I am a member).

Harvest View Stables had a fundraiser for Fun last January and I've been following his progress with Beth since. Beth is a phenomonal woman and Fun has been going great. I rode with Beth and Fun in a clinic 2 weeks ago and have we had a blast! :D

I was also wondering if it was him. I love hearing stories of these "big, bad event horses" becoming amazing schoolmasters. Soooooooo cool.

I was @ FHI when he fell a couple years ago, and have had the opportunity to meet Melissa and some of the crew at Windchase and this just makes me smile! What an awesome ending to what was such a devastating injury! YAY for Melissa, Fun, and Beth!

It is the same Fun :) And everything that has been said about Melissa I can wholeheartedly agree with after being a WS at Windchase - she's the best!
