I don't really know where to post this however I just had the opportunity of a lifetime fall into my lap and I don't know what to do to make it work. My boss just called and offered me one of his horses as a gift (he is going through a divorce and in the process he is being forced to sell the farm and horses). He said he knew how much I loved said horse and so he'd like to give him to me as a gift.

Catcher: I can't afford $400/month board to get him a stall and he can't be pasture boarded. This horse used to do Advanced Level Eventing in Europe, Grand Prix jumpers in Florida, and most recently fox hunting in SC. He needs turnout but he also needs a stall. He also can't be turned out with other horses. He is very picky about who he goes out with however he has been turned out with other horses before.

I would like to find somewhere close to richmond that is cheap that he can have a stall and turnout in. I'd be more than willing to work off my board. I don't have class til noon so I can do morning chores 5-days a week and some weekends.

Any Ideas?

I don't know anywhere near Richmond, but I think that Paddlestone Equestrian Center and Antebellum Farm are fairly inexpensive with self care options. Haylands was $235 month for a self care stall but you provide everything-- hay, grain, bedding. If you can get a copy of the Kentucky Horse Council directory, there are lots and lots of barns in there!
