Moving back to New England with a Cushings horse who is currently eating Purina Wellsolve L/S @ $26 per bag. Have available Poulin Carb Safe, Blue Seal Carb Guard & Triple Crown Lite/Low Starch all available, yippee!!! Without trying them all, which is most palatable and what are NEnglanders paying per bag? Thanks in advance.
PS- Horse is not IR and is a hard keeper who needs to gain weight.

I had my are on Blue seal carb gard and liked it just fine- I think it was around $14 a bag???
You should be able to get Purina too- they do sell it in NE ;)

Poulin CarbSafe has a lot of fiber in it...that is what I'm using on our IR pony in conjunction with Nutraflax for added fat. She looks MUCH better...

I just switched from the Triple Crown Low Starch to Poulin Carb Safe. Not a big price difference, but I didn't like the smell of the Triple Crown LS, and wasn't sure about how it was storing in the heat. Mine both like the Poulin, but then again they are piggies and get a teeny amount - but the Poulin is alfalfa based and seems like it has less of a tendency to go bad if you don't go through a lot.
Plus I hear the best things about Poulin grain, so I would definitely think about that one. It's $14 at the Poulin Store near me.

Another vote for BS Carb Guard. The horse looks great and my wallet isn't gasping. :)

Just wanted to add that my guy is also a hard keeper and does quite well on the BS Carb Guard.
I do also add Timothy/Alfalfa cubes, Canola oil and flax.
