I *THINK* I want my eventing colors to be Hunter and Navy and finding saddle pad in the given color is hard at a price I can afford! (Any suggestions would be great). I have looked at this pad : http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Roma-Reversible-Softie-A-P-Pad-Purple-Lilac_W0QQitemZ220364329634QQcategoryZ16245QQcmdZV iewItemQQ_trksidZp3907.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC% 26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3 D12%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54 And is seems kinda thick, but does anyone have it or used it. Like it? Not like it?
Thanks a ton and anymore suggestions would be great!

Try www.padperfect.com I recently bought two in my colors for my very forward saddle. Until now, I haven't been able to find pads that fit the saddle and don't shift. These are great and a lot cheaper than similar pads. She gives a discount to Adult Rider Program members too.

I am a big advocate for SeamsRight Saddle pads - but if you are not looking to spend that much money BoB has some really neat "pick your own color" options. And i believe Dover even stocks some in those colors.
Best of luck!!

This is from Dover - it doesn't really fit a forward flap, but at least it's an option!

I'm pretty much in the under $30 camp for saddle pads. The pad perfect pads are attractive, but not what I think of as inexpensive. Here are some less pricey options:

I actually really like the Roma puffy pads. I also have a Shires (thank you TOTD) that is similar but like the Romas better.
I have a couple of the Dover RI pads and they are great--after cutting off the billet straps. And I just rode in a Roma Ecole pad last week for the first time--I love it but the girth loop seems to be in the wrong place. I'm going to have to play with placement of the pad and see if I can make it work a bit better next time I use it.
IMHO, if your saddle fits well and your pad doesn't shift, then I much prefer pads w/o billet straps or girth loops. I'll leave girth loops on as long as they don't mess with pad fit, but if so, they get chopped off too.

Dover has inexpensive pads in custom colors...also several in green and blue or blue and green. :D

I use the above pad all the time and find it quite appropriate. I HATE puffy pads, I want something as close to the horse as possible. The pads above are USUALLY on sale (you can buy 3 for $12.99 a piece during their sales!). Now granted, they don't last forever. Don't dry them in the dryer! But they are nice fitting pads on my horse (fairly flat back) and they are cheap, plus they come in my colors! I always cut off the billet straps on them. The girth loops are okay though!
I use it on my close contact saddle. Not a terribly forward flap, but still not an all purpose saddle either.
Have fun!

I have always put my pads in the dryer too....but these pads shrink too much in the dryer! Trust me! Just let it air dry and you'll get much more life out of them ;) I've shrunk one and had to chuck it because it was SO short that I couldn't get my entire saddle on it (haha!).....But seriously. They are so cheap so it's not *that* big of a deal to me to lose one and to only air dry them! I just hang them over my kitchen chair once they're cleaned and then they're dry in the morning!

I have the pad you were looking at, the Roma pillow pad. It is quite thick, I wouldn't use it xc because the one I have I use for schooling and it tends to slip, even with a no slip underneath. It's also pretty thick, and not breathable, and I bet it would get pretttttty sweaty and gross.

If you like the Roma pads, Legacy Tack has them even cheaper:
http://www.legacytack.com/p/10871/Roma%20Reversible%20Softie%20Dressage%20Pad.html Someone on here is sponsored by them and offers a $5 coupon - I think the code is kaboom? I have a few of these - they don't slip, and have warn really well.
I love the Padperfect pads because they are the only pads I could customize colors and would fit my extremely forward flap Devoucoux. For the price and quality, you can't beat them!

I 2nd Pad Perfect. I saw these at Wayne last weekend and seem to be superior quality, excellent craftsmanship and design. Customization with piping & binding included in price!
