I'm not sure which saddle I should use for my XC rounds.

Saddle 1:
Ultimate close contact Crosby, old and flat. Great fit for horse and myself, and puts me in a better position equitation wise. Not so great if horse blows a gasket while on our first course. Very smooth surface, not a lot of grip. Rain = horrible ride.

Saddle 2:
No name AP type saddle, deep seat. Great fit for horse, great fit for me, but doesn't put me in good equitation. Awesome if horse is having issues as I am in a more secure position. Has knee rolls, a plus if horse decides to go a different. way.

Horse has a high chance of refusing the pretty jumps, we're going for fun and experience. We're only doing pre BN, max of 2'. Horse always clears unless I'm dangling under her belly, never happened. I'm working with my instructor and have a much better release than those photos. She's a H/J trainer and suggests I go for equitation saddle.

I would take the one I feel most secure in. One less thing to worry about. . .
