About ten years ago I rode a little Connemara mare for a few months. Lea was the most astonishing horse ever. She was almost too smart and I've never felt such a connection or so safe on a horse. Being a kid we did silly things together like pop over XC fences bareback etc. I had a wee accident falling off her, ironically, and once I was cleared to get back on she had left the barn.
Over the years I had made a few sporadic attempts to find her via Google but nothing had really worked. Finally, through Facebook of all things, I found Lea! Or rather, I found her owner who still had Lea and Maire (her sister). Crazily, they were all about 20 minutes from where I live now (which is about three hours from where I grew up). And I got to ride Lea yesterday! Holy cow for a 25 year old horse she doesn't act like it!
I can't describe how thrilled I am. I now get to ride her for a while again!
