I have a GOV registered mare who is MMB ISR/OldNA approved. I will be breeding her to a stallion who is approved in both registries. I am a member of ISR/OldNA. If I become a member of GOV it is cheaper before November.

Which registry would you choose for the foal? Does the sex make any difference? Would a mare who had done her approval/MPT be more valuable from selling the foal's point of view? (GOV offer a MPT, ISR/OldNA doesn't).

Inspections are an equally far distance apart. The mare is very well bred and the foal will be jumping oriented if that makes a difference. Would you consider the Continental Studbook?

:)GOV now also registers for OS or Oldenburg International, the jumping verband. It wouldn't hurt to see if your youngster qualified.

Oh that's very exciting news! I had been thinking about applying for the Hanoverian Jumper Program, but I think you've made up my mind for me :) My mare is by First Gotthard out of a GP jumper mare who showed at Spruce Meadows. I will contact GOV on monday, thank you.

Molly Malone, did you just purchase this mare? If you stay with the Oldenburg registries, I think GOV will give you more stallion options, plus apparently there is now a jumper program. However, I think you should seriously consider presenting her to the AHS. :)

The AHS inspection site is closer to me, however the stallion I am breeding her to is not AHS approved (not sure if he will be presented). That doesn't stop me presenting her next year to both GOV and AHS for breeding approval.

Would one registry accept the other's MPT results?
