I have a friend that is into combined driving, and she has a number of Dutch Harness Horses (Dutch WB x Hackney) in her team. She also events and has one DHH mare that is a fantastic jumper.
It got me thinking - does anyone here breed for combined driving, and if so, what breeds do you focus on? Can anyone here tell me more about Dutch Harness Horses?
Thanks!

Just for clarification, a Dutch Harness horse is NOT a Dutch Warmblood crossed with a Hackney. Your post could be interpreted to mean just that.
The Dutch Harness Horse is the product of a very selective and careful breeding program using the older Dutch harness breeds with a small influx of Hackney and Saddlebred blood. They are not crosses.
I know of harness horses that are most definitely Dutch Warmblood crosses, but those are not to be confused with the Dutch Harness Horse.

Sorry, that is how she described the breed to me - she must have been simplifying a bit (as I wasn't familiar with them). They are all Dutch Harness Horses, not just Dutch WB crosses. I quite like them, so am hoping to learn a bit more about them and about other breeds used for combined driving. Thanks!

Have you seen this site? (http://www.dutchharness.net)
They are lovely looking horses! :)
(Maybe try a post in the driving forums- I bet there's people in there who can tell you more.)

I'm in love with a DHH stallion in our area. He used to do harness I think, but his current owner jumps him and shows successfully through the local 3'6" jumpers. He's big, flashy, and calm.
Any thoughts on a DHH/Oldenburg cross? I want my girl to have his babies.
It's not my video, but enjoy his gorgeousness.
