William Micklem's blog this week covers Throroughbreds, safety and genetic links through the disciplines. Superb writing, as usual.

Thank you for posting your articles. I enjoy reading them.
InStyle (Ian Miller), Hickstead (Eric Lamaze) are a pride and joy to watch competing, especially Hickstead and Eric Lamaze. They are simply "la mazing" in the Olympics in Hong Kong.

I have now memorized the 3 to 5 gods you mentioned in your article -- Lucky Boy,
Furioso etc. etc.

check, check and check again - my horses have nearly all of them in their pedigrees.
Very interesting, but the field is far larger than that. Thanks. Love reading about TB's.

I'm really enjoying it too, not surprisingly. As someone who values and treasures the importance of the Mighty Thoroughbred as sport horses, and for their genetic value in producing sport horses, it does my heart good to read Mr Micklem.

We are not alone! :)

I think the whole series, but in particular this last segment, would be very interesting to people over on the eventing forum.

Yes, that is true, and would make an interesting spin-off thread.
