I've browsed the AHS website but need some clarification on some things. Can you share with me the details on getting a TB mare approved and what her foal's status could/would be when sired by a Hanoverian stallion.
Apparently the stallion of the foal must not only be approved Han but also have at least 50% Han blood. Is this correct?
Is a TB mare only eligible for the main studbook if she passes the MPT?
Also, how fond are they of hunter type mares in general?
That's it for now! Thank you!

You have the 1) either breed to a Hanoverian-branded stallion (ie, with brand on him from when a foal) or 2) select a stallion who has at least 50% Hanoverian blood (but these stallions have been branded by other registries). Thus you could breed to Pablo (who has more than 50%) but not Rousseau if you had a TB mare. You could breed to Royal Prince because he is Hanoverian branded (but probably doesn't quite have the 50% blood, but it doesn't matter since he has the Hano brand).

Yes, she would have to pass the MPT. It changed a few years ago. It used to be that TB mares who passed inspection were prestudbook and those that passed the MPT were studbook (not main studbook). They basically elliminated the prestudbook, so it bumped everyone up a book; thus TBs who passed the MPT are now Main Studbook

That's it for now! Thank you! As long as the mare gets an overall 7, it doesn't matter if she is hunter or dressage or jumping type. What really matters for TB mares is that they get a 7 on impulsion (requirement) and a 7 for overall.
