Posting for a friend who worked with this mare and is desperately trying to help place her ... I will put you in direct touch ...
"Gentle paint mare ... was a rescue and now, under threat of euthanasia, she finds herself needing another home. This mare is HAPPY and wonderful, she needs her teeth floated and she needs trims every 5 - 6 weeks for possible navicular. Not diagnosed but she is off on front left. She is 16 yrs old, 16 hands, GORGEOUS with a heart of gold and just wants someone to love on her. She is FREE with her Registration papers to a good home. She is an excellent mother and has good bloodlines - her registered name is "Ima Special Winner".
Can someone please take her in? She is friendly, loves to be loved on, she leads, loads, ties, bathes, clips, all of it ... she has not once refused to do anything. She talks to you, she loves to go for walks on the trail (lead her on adventures) she is great with other horses, does not care about dogs, deer, cows, rabbits, etc. She would be an excellent broodmare or companion; she was last ridden 7 yrs ago. She had halter classes and possible points and when we put her in the round pen she works at liberty, reads body language well. She is respectful. My daughter got on her bareback in a halter after 7 years of abuse and neglect and the mare did not bat an eyelid.
I would guess she could be ridden with diagnosis on her front left - I watch her trot across the pasture and she floats! (somedays she is not sore). Let me know if you can help - I have photos I can mail to you off list
