I know this has been asked in fact I may have asked it myself a couple of years ago! I can't seem to find any threads though. I searched I promise.

Looking for some schooling shows in the SF bay area, preferably south bay or penninsula. I've checked the CDS website but can't really tell what's rated and what's schooling. I've also checked bayequest. I'm looking for a few cheap schooling shows to take a greenie to this year.

Thanks for the help.

Try your CDS Chapters website. Sonoma CDS has all the schooling shows in the county listed. So I would start there.

I tried that, not very helpful. It seems like there are only rated shows listed. Can anyone point me to an old thread on the subject? I know there were a couple.

I think garlic country dressage has some, the sac valley chapter has one, Hossmore in Martinez I think has some.

There are slim pickings around here for schooling dressage shows. If I were you I would go to the CDS chapter websites of the chapters in your area(a list with links is on the main CDS website) lots of times they are advertised on the chapter websites and not in many other places.

Also check out the events calendar of BAEN.

It seems as if the chapter websites are either out of date or refer you back to CDS and there are only championship shows left this year.

Thanks Fitte, I've looked on Bayequest. It's a bit complicated by the fact that my other mare who is a showjumper is going to 4 "A" rated HJ shows (if possible) in the next two months. While I'm not riding her I am ground crew, warm up jump claimer, groom, trailer driver, and anything else that comes up.

Garlic country is all rated and I can't find a schedule anywhere, just the show this weekend? Sonoma chapter seems to be the only one with some schooling shows up near Santa Rosa which is a long way to go!

Everything on the CDS site is 3 star and I'd like something low key and inexpensive. I think my timing stinks as well ;) I do appreciate the input though.

You'll have to weed through all sorts of event, but Bay Area Equestiran Network has an event calendar: http://www.bayequest.info/Event/

You might check in the local magazines like "Ride" or "Riding" which lists events. And sometimes CDS Newsletters also lists "events" including schooling shows and clinics -their show calendar is only for CDS rated shows. Local feedstores and tack stores often have flyers hanging too.

I know in the East Bay, La Jolla has some schooling shows, and I'm pretty sure there is a place in Santa Rosa hosting some schooling shows. Check with some of the dressage oriented barns in the area, they may know of some shows.

Thanks guys after much ferreting I think I found everything that's left this year. I'll share in case anyone else is interested.

This website has a calender that shows most of them. I found it to be the most consolidated. You have to sign up but it's a site you can use to fill out the entries.

A friend showed me this place. She photographs there sometimes.

The one Friesanx pointed out. I decided to try next month (the closest to me).

bayequest had some but a lot of these weren't on it.

Dressage Art, you rock! Keep adding to your list!

There's more if I had gotten on my game earlier in the year. I wish the garlic country website was more up to date. It seems like a lot of the sites aren't updated. Confusing, though I assume maintainence is volunteer work.
