Redwine and Federalist were approved GOV today at Sue Curry's GOV inspection. It was a great inspection with beautiful mares and foals. It was my first GOV inspection and I was very happy with the comments and the inspectors seemed very knowledgable and were very pleasant.

Whooo! Congrats Jill!
Can't wait for my Redwine baby next year, I got my mare thats in foal to him out today and gave her a nice bath and haircut.... as well as making sure that she knows I'd like a black foal with chrome
Hope to see you at AHS this Friday!

Dressage-ryder- I'll definately be there to watch
Unfortunatly I'm not taking anybody :( I had wanted to take my new TB mare, who is probably one of the best moving Thoroughbreds I've ever seen. However, finances just won't allow it this year. I'm still very excited though, Inspections are always so much fun.
Who will you be taking? I assume Fabulux is one? BTW, saw her at the Breed Show at SV a couple weeks ago.... what a fabulous mare, I'm SO jealous of that Rousseau baby she's got cooking! Your going to have an awesome foal.

Yay! I am looking forward to meeting you!! We are taking Fabulux and Greta. Greta is an imported HOL mare. She is older and was a 1.40 show jumper...Currently she is infoal to Gray Fox Farms Romantic Star. Thanks for the comments about Lexi - She was a little spunky at the breed show but had been layed up for a few weeks!
Hope to see Redwine in action Friday :) :) :)

Congratulations to you and your stallions. I am REALLY happy that Redwine has been approved GOV. Now he is eligible to sire KWPN-NA Register A foals.

Redwine and Federalist were approved GOV today at Sue Curry's GOV inspection.
Sorry...were the stallions licensed or approved ?
Thanks.

That's super, Jill! Congrats! I will be sending a mare owner your way next year for Redwine if I can convince her to do the EVA protocol this winter. :)
Mardi, I am pretty sure that both stallions have already completed their performance requirements, so they would be considered fully approved for Oldenburg (GOV) breeding.

How does that make them KWPN approved? Is that Dutch? Anyone know if a mare is bred in a certain year, and the stallion becomes approved for a registry after the foal is born, can the baby be eligible for that registry, or does he need to be with that registry when mare is bred? Oh and congrats Jill, they looked beautiful!

No, no, GOV approval does not make them "Dutch approved". However GOV is now considered "Erkend" (you will have to go to www.kwpn-na.org to read about this designation), and thus with Erkend book approval, an Erkend registry stallion can sire Register A foals with KWPN-NA mares. There are conditions and what not to read about, but I was not implying that GOV approval equated KWPN-NA "approval" in the broadest sense. Only that with this GOV approval, if I bred one of my KWPN-NA mares to either stallion, the foal would have some valid registerable status with the KWPN-NA through Register A. Which is a good option for many wanting to use outside stallions. Check out the website to get the details.
