My husband is going to be having knee surgery, and won't be able to ride for quite awhile. I have my hands more than full riding and working full time, and don't have the time to add his mare to the work load as well.

She is beginner safe, he learned to post the trot on her and she has been very tolerant and forgiving of a lot of things. She has a really good head on her, and while she'll take care of a novice, she has the experience and talent to do a lot more (and I'd prefer it, and she probably would too!) She is also experienced, she has hunted, hunter paced, is great on trails, jumps, etc. She has been in light work, is currently barefoot - so other then shoes or boots and a little more fitness is ready to show, hunt, whatever. 16.2 medium build, would jump the moon if asked to. I haven't thought logistics, it really depends on what you would want to do with her (for example, if you wanted to fox hunt - I'd probably want some kind of insurance). For on farm work, free lease.

I have another one I'd free lease on farm as well, but she is a bit more of a greenie and less tolerant of mistakes. She has some mileage as well (trails, hunter paced) but needs a quiet rider. She would be available for lease early September for somebody interested in a hunter vs event horse to lease. Tall, slender build mare.

I would be interested in learning more about your mare. My boyfriend is a whipper in for Marlborough Hunt and he only has a greenie lined up for the coming season. We are looking for another horse as a backup. We live on a huge farm with great turnout and large stalls. We are both experienced horseman and riders. Please email or call Greg Bush at 443-995-3221 or gbush@indiancreekschool.com or Lisa Swan at 410-320-0034 or ponypro@netzero.net Thank you!

baldface - I have someone coming out to look at her this weekend for a lease. I'll keep you in mind in case she doesn't like her/it doesn't work out. Thanks!

We found a lease for our hunt mare. We also have a hunter/jumper I'd consider leasing out. As I noted in my original post, she doesn't necessarily require an advanced rider, but requires a quiet one. She won't run off or do anything silly, but for the combination to be happy, somebody light in the seat and mouth would be necessary.

I'm actually working this girl lightly right now, kept her open from breeding to put some hunter/jumper mileage on her next spring, so she'll stay in work by me - but someone interested in riding or showing coud jump on her a couple days a week. She would do quite well in the hunter ring, very long low comfortable stride - nice for the hack, and a steady quiet jump. We also have a trainer come on farm, so if someone just wants to take lessons now and then, this affords the option of using a nice show horse vs a lesson horse to learn on.

She is seal brown and is generally black when not sunbleached.

What is the height of the show mare? Also, how old is she?

Centerstage, she is closer to 16.3 but I usually say 16.2 as it's impossible to get an exact. She is narrow bodied though. She is 8 years old.
