Chicken fence is up... testing bird intelligence

Hey Jswan, I put up the fence (step in posts and bird netting....) I had to laugh when I let them out this morning. They ran straight to the garden to begin their daily destruction. Then, there they were, looking at the Great Wall....they looked over and under and sideways, and over and under and sideways.... I know their evil little brains are planning on how they can defeat the wall!

But so far so good...... they ran off to the pasture to pick apart horse poop (that's their main job anyway...) :)

But, I'm sure they will have a conference in the coop tonight, perhaps tomorrow they'll come out with a Trojan chicken or some such device to gain entrance into chicken paradise....

Mine don't do a thing. All 56 of them stood there like prisoners looking out onto the free world.... pooped, ruffled their feathers, and then ran under a tree.

Then they pooped some more.

There a lot like goats in that regard.

I should have thought ahead and brought the camera with me.... Maybe tomorrow. I'm sure they'll have hatched a plan by then.....

Oh hell.....mine just flew up & over it. So much for that investment!! Mine also fly outa the 6 ft. kennel chain link fence that is their former-dog-kennel-turned-chicken-coop. But less so after they watched horrified while a rooster got took for a ride by the fox. Buh bye rooster! Mostly mine are staying within the fenced in yard which they are free running.

ha ha, mine can't get more than a foot off the ground..... I laugh at them when they try to fly.......
