I've been cleaning out the attic and found boxfuls of old ribbons. I culled my most special ones, but have been left with about four liquor-store-boxes full of them.
Some are dusty, most are wrinkley, some championships, some big, some fancy year end ribbons. Some standard ribbon-ribbons. I threw out the stained, badly wrinkled or falling-apart ones. With an iron and a duster, what's left would be great as gifts or prizes. I hate to put them in the trash. Would be great for a summer camp, or little barn fun shows.
If someone responds by Monday afternoon, I'll stick them in the mail on Tuesday morning. All to one person for the price of shipping, via paypal. I'll ship and you can send me payment, but I'm currently unemployed, so please don't stiff me. I can't imagine it would be much - big box, but light!

Hi, we'd love to have your ribbons. We do a small, in-house schooling show every year and we use recycled ribbons to help keep costs down so everyone can participate. I'd be happy to pay for shipping. Will send you a pm in a sec with my info. Thanks!!

I have many, many old ribbons and many trophies - I will be excavating the boxes this winter - would you be interested in some of both? Please indicate where you are located - I am KC area. I would be willing to send them to you. I just do not know when I will have them ready - probably after the first of the year and would need to know how many you are interested in ? giving a new home. Thanks.

Wonderful !!! I will get a sample together and mail to you -so you can advise me on what types work best for your situation. Thrilled to find a home for them - some are very old like 60's 50's 40's --antique show ribbons and trophies ~ all in fine shape and still have true colors ~ they have been stored in a cool attic for years. Thanks for your interest and getting back to me so quickly. Again,,I am delighted you can put them to good use and re-home them. I think you will be quite pleased.

I too have a bag of ribbons. Mine are a tad interesting however since some of them are from livestock shows (sheep and cows) and other competitions (public speaking, debate, etc.). Any interest from anyone?

Oh boy, OhMiss! You may find yourself innundated with ribbons! I have a box or so that I'm looking to find a home for. It's such a shame to throw them in the trash since they hold such fond memories, but I certainly can't keep them all! I'll check them out and PM you sometime.
In my old 4-H club we took the centers out of old ribbons and replaced them with fun patterned ribbon (balloons, flowers, smiley faces, etc), and then decorated the plain ribbon sides with puffy fabric paint. We used these for our costume classes where everyone got a ribbon for being the best in a category (scariest, prettiest, most patriotic, toughest, silliest, most creative, judge's choice, etc), so we'd write the category down the sides and decorate in that theme.
I've also hear of people creating scrapbook/photo album covers and quilt wall hangings from weaving pieces of ribbons together. I've seen a few and they are incredible! I just don't have the time for that.

If anyone has any more in decent condition, I use old ones and sew patches over the names to hand out for my disabled students in our "horse shows". I'd be willing to pay shipping provided it isn't too much and the kids would love them!

Hi Litlhponies!
I'd also be interested in yours as well! Please PM me when you are ready! It takes a lot of ribbons to hold a show, even a schooling show or a small fun show (so I'm finding out-lol)- but that's ok! I'm bound and determined to make this happen. For many of the boarders here, this would be their first show, and first ribbons won....and a lot of the first time showers/owners here are adults, not just kids........so you can be sure whomever wins them, they will be as loved and cherished as when you originally won them! Thank you again for your reply!

If anyone has any Browns/light Blues/Pinks/Purples/Whites, I would love to take those since I actually have started making quilted ribbon pillows and throws and want to try some other colors without using all the ones I have up!
PM me if you have some and we'll work something out. =)

I don't mean to hijack this thread but if anyone else has any old ribbons they would like to get rid of, I'd love to take them for a project my 3 girls are working on.
Feel free to post here or PM me :) Thanks!

The show was a smashing success! Thank you to ALL who contributed ribbons! They were treasured by all who won them. Many of the adults (who had never shown before) are already talking about (and looking forward to) next years show.....Thanks again! OhMissLibrarian
