View Full Version : Riding Boot Recommendation

Aug. 8, 2009, 12:18 AM

I am looking to buy a new pair of boots/chaps for riding. I currently ride 10-14 horses daily and have been using my mom's Ariat tall boots for couple of months because my boots have become too small.

I dont mind spending a bit of money because of the amount of time I spend in the saddle. I am considering full leather chaps/blundstones (or some other type of paddock boot) or tall boots.

I wear a size 8 and have very slim legs. The boots I am wearing currently are slims and are much too baggy around my ankle.

What type of leather/style do you recommend and do you prefer full chaps or tall boots?

ariat monaco: http://www.ariat.com/products_detail.aspx?pcid=8&cid=1&scid=12&pid=841

the challenge is a good bit cheaper (around 375 ish) than the monaco (around 800) but both are AMAZING.

For schooling I just wear chaps. A pair of those velcro chaps are like $35, and they last for YEARS!!! I would never want to wear my cherished Ariat Challenges(♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) for everyday riding!!!! I would go with just chaps and some paddock boots. IMO, tall boots are just too expensive to wear everyday.
