I know that this is roughly IHSA for high school, but does anyone have experience, especially in Zone 1? How many horses does the host school need to provide? How is the judging? Real judges or not? Does the organization have its stuff together?

Any information would be nice.

Thanks.

I'm in zone 4, but yes, the IEA has its stuff together. It's very legit, the judges all have to be USEF "r" (I think it's a little r) rated. Just like at normal shows, some of the judging is spot on and sometimes it's like, "Wha ...", but for the most part it's a great organization. If you put on a horseshow, you need somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50 horses to make it work. I'm about to begin my third season as a coach.

IEA is affiliated with USEF. All judges are required to be r judges and many of the top juniors and trainers are now participating. Hosting a show doesn't mean providing all the horses; it just means securing the horses. I think IEA suggests 6 rides for one horse. . .
