Someone please help Compass :( He is a BEAUTIFUL bay Swedish Warmblood/TB gelding. 8 years old. He is cleared for most diciplines although I don't think serious jumping at high levels would be good (OCD removed from stifle this winter). Low level eventing/jumping should be fine. He's in a bad spot right now and needs someone to adopt him or foster him!

He was a horse we had in training last year. When we got him in he had severe ulcers, a suture in his back and a very bad attitude from all the pain. We treated the ulcers and had the suture removed...he went from the devil to a complete angel. Even at his worst he nipped but never left a mark on us. We did all of his groundwork...leading, cross ties, bathing, ground driving, basic manners, head down, lunging off complete vocal cues (including speeding up and slowing down walk and trot tempo off of voice)...you name it and he learned it! He had back pain issues which we thought were still from soreness from the suture (which had been embedded for 9 months from a laceration he had gotten). After a few months of just lightly sitting on him we could tell he was still uncomfortable...if he's not uncomfortable he is the most willing partner you could ask for. So we had him xrayed...he had a big OCD in his hind left stifle. His owner paid to have it removed but could no longer keep him. We rehabbed him and donated him to a horse rescue in Wisconsin.

I just recieved an email tonight that he bit and kicked two different people and the rescue doesn't know what to do with him. I also found out for 2 months that he had to live in a round pen...NOT OK for this horse. He is a TOTAL clown and loves to run and play with his herd. I will almost guarantee his ulcers came back from the stress and he has not had a consistent program...which he requires! If you make things black and white for him he's an angel...give him some gray area and he'll take over in a second. The rescue is located near Madison, WI and they are desperate for someone to adopt him or foster him that can put him back into a program and straighten him out.

Here is a link to his videos if anyone is interested....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0iDBRIzTgY

Search my name and you'll find several others. He is NOT for sale anymore...those are old. He is at a rescue in Wisconsin and I would be happy to connect you to Susan if you are interested. Any questions and please let me know! Help my friend :(

Wow he's gorgeous. What did the vet's say about the prognosis of recovery from his surgery?

Hey guys! Thanks for the responses and to those I emailed with. Compass is doing great and the rescue placed him in a new home who is capable of getting him all patched up! Thank you so much for ALL of the offers to help him!
