Once again, I am turning to the forum for some help! Not only I am in the search of a pony for my son (he is having a very hard time letting go of his pony now:sadsmile:, so I am taking my time to get a new one:winkgrin:)

Anyways, my new dilemma is the "s" word! Yeah, I might need a new saddle!!! Urghhhhh. I have the Custom Advantage and I loveeee it, but my trainer believes that it is putting me in a chair seat (I know, I am fixing riding issues, daily lounge lessons!). So, what do you guys suggest:

I need something that is going to help me to:

Seat a bit more towards the front of the saddle.

Narrower twist

Straighter flaps

Someone suggested the Sommer Flextra, but if I spent that much in a saddle again, that will be grounds for divorce. Any ideas??? Yeah Yeah Yeah, I am working really hard on my riding, posture etc, I know there is not a miracle saddle, but there is not reason why I need to fight not just my stiff body, but the saddle as well

Any ideas?

Gracias!

Merche,

I had a custom Advantage from way back when they were all actually custom made. Worked for my horse until we got to 2nd level, when the bigger padding under the cantle squeezed him unduly when asked to collect.

I switched to a Prestige 2000D and was really happy. My new horse now has a short back so I moved to a Prestige Academy. Narrower twists in general, great saddles. I still have the 2000D if interested (PM me), but regardless the nice thing is that they are adjustable in the tree should your horse change.

Fred Thate at Custom Saddlery sold my Advantage for a decent amount of money, so I ended up pretty much even eventually.
