View Full Version : Doing an article on Brentina for school - need some help :)

So, I have to write a short article about something for my English class, and I decided to write it about Brentina. However, the internet is being remarkably unhelpful, and there are still some things I'm not positive on.
1. Where was she foaled?
2. Where/when did she debut in international competition? [I thought it was Pan Am in 2004, but I think I'm wrong ]
3. How long did she compete at international level?

I want to do this fabulous mare justice

TIA!

The Pan Am Games were in 1999. That's all I could find out for you, and I have Debbie's book!

So that would make it nine years that she competed internationally, since the '08 Olympics were her last competition.

Brentina was foaled in Germany and purchased by Peggy Thomas at the 1994 Hanoverian Elite Auction in Verden, Germany. Brentina is by Brentano II and out of a Lungau mare, and notably her full brother, Barclay, competed at the Athens Olympics also (for Holland).

There is some more info on her here, as well as a link to search Phelps media coverage of her:

Brentina is also on wikipedia
