That's not really a long 'a', though, is it? I always thought Anky roughly rhymed with donkey, maybe a little more 'a' and a little less 'o'.

Disclaimer: Now, I'll admit that one of my mini-donks ended up named Anky because of this observation, but it is NOT any kind of judgement on Anky, at all. I really like my donkeys.

Kind of like Donkey without the "duh" ...

(the reference has no relevance to Anky's actual personality and is not trying to imply anything...just to make that clear)

Yeah, not really the long 'a' sound but that is how a friend is pronouncing it. And I thought it was more of an 'ah' sound. But friend insisted that is how the tack store owner pronounced it.

Just trying to be sure I'm right, not that I am trying to be right to friend, just to myself ;). But I figured you all would know.

AHnky, DAHnkey, anky, panky, tomato, tomatoe.
