That's not really a long 'a', though, is it? I always thought Anky roughly rhymed with donkey, maybe a little more 'a' and a little less 'o'.
Disclaimer: Now, I'll admit that one of my mini-donks ended up named Anky because of this observation, but it is NOT any kind of judgement on Anky, at all. I really like my donkeys.

Yeah, not really the long 'a' sound but that is how a friend is pronouncing it. And I thought it was more of an 'ah' sound. But friend insisted that is how the tack store owner pronounced it.
Just trying to be sure I'm right, not that I am trying to be right to friend, just to myself ;). But I figured you all would know.
AHnky, DAHnkey, anky, panky, tomato, tomatoe. :lol:
