My 19 year old nearly 18hh dressage/broodmare is looking for a nice field to retire in. She is currently on free lease in Ithaca, NY but it seems like she is not holding up as a riding horse due to soundness issues.

I would love to find a home that would take over her costs, however, I know this may not be possible. If I could find a place that would be a minimum costs for her care, I would consider this.

Her issues:
She is arthritic in her hocks due to an old puncture injury
She may require a pad on her hind feet or might need to be shod
She needs medication 2x/day

I would love her to live out in a big grass field, but would need to be brought in (or feed somehow) two times a day to get her meds. She is so easy to handle and an absolute sweetheart. She is good with other horses and loves her boys. It is possible that she still might be able to do light trail riding just to keep her happy.

I would love to get her back to the Western MA area or somewhere in New England close to family/friends in the area to check on her. I am moving out to St. Louis so I am open to suggestions in that area though I think the trip might take a toll on her.

Please send me a PM if interested. Her lease is up in March 2010 but the leaser is willing to end the lease earlier if she finds a good home!
