Holy Smokes...341 foals!

I only looked at some of the videos, and I looked almost exclusively at fillies, but so far...
#'s 60 (Fuerst Romancier x Charon), 88 (Stedinger x Prince Thatch), and 330 (Baroncelli x Rotspon) are my favorites.
Also like 204, 228, 242, 294, and 321.
Wish there was video on 194.
Look at 341- wow that is some extreme knee...
Interesting name choices on a few (like Desperate Housewife, God is a Girl )
PS- You just had to post this on a night when I have a lit review due, didn't you.

There are a lot.... of nice foals. Very nice.
I liked a lot of the Quarterback's. Breeders seemed to have figured out the right matches. There are so many nice Quarterbacks that no one will have to fight.
I would expect exceptionally high prices on a few foals. But there are so... many nice foals that there will be a few steals here as well.

I like 211 (Quaterback/DeNiro/Prince Orac)

It's a shame there isn't a video of the Rubinstein I filly.
I agree, there are several fairly nice Quaterbacks. I'm only up to number 91, but have liked many of the video's I've seen.

So far my favorite is #180, Quaterback/ Falkstern II/ Rouletto
Although I'm only looking at ones who have breeding interesting to me :)

Number 353. Wow. Just look at her hind legs. I'd take her any day of the week.

What a huge collection! I would take # 282 please....Christ/Prinnce Thatch xx/Dakar. Lovely mover, beautiful top line and conformation. I kept two Quaterback foals from this year, or I would be drooling over those too! Like # 14, Quaterback/Accord II. No video, but you do not need much imagination to visualize how he might move.

I have only looked through a handful. So far I like 338, like her hind leg, which stays under her. I believe that her grand dam is a full sister to Wolkentanz I and II.

My Quaterback colt is number 215. I hope he finds a good home. He is a very tall February foal, so I hope he still moves like he used to- he may be starting to get geeky. Mom is a super mover, and state premium, and dad is, well, amazing.

Edgewood, I am with you on that filly #338. She is outstanding, my fav!! Beautiful hind leg, super femininity, beautiful breeding!
I also like the Quaterback/Falkenstern as well. Super colt. Actually, all of the Quaterbacks in this auction are pretty nice!
The Dancier x Archipel # 339 is also :D

I will be interested to see how well the 2-year-old Quaterback colts do at the stallion licensing this fall--then next year under saddle.

I really like this mare. (http://service.vit.de/pfauktion/pfliste/seite?tierid=43179&id=2310)
Not sure why, there's just something about her that I like.
This girl (http://service.vit.de/pfauktion/pfliste/seite?tierid=43182&id=2310) is nice too.

As always lots of good foals. Really my favorite auction to attend!!
As far as deals.......not so! when they started the new format (2 day auction) everyone thought that, but only a few with no bidding, the rest all gets sold. (and even a average 3500E foal is close to 11K to bring over)

Linda, are you refering to the 11K to bring over, one foal on a pallet??
Walnut Farm
Aug. 8, 2009, 01:38 PM
no, Klatte always arrange for at least 4 on a pallet. But, here is the math 3500 Euros=5040 $
Plus 7 % insurance + commission (actually also must pay 6% tak, but when imported it comes back) =352$
Then 5500 for import and quarentine to NY. voila 11K

I've looked at lots of the posted videos, but haven't seen them all, and there are LOTS of really nice foals in this sale. 3 really stood out to me: 83 (Dancier/Londonderry/Airport), 180 Quaterdance (Quaterback/Falkenstern II/Rouletto), and 339 Domingo K (Dancier/Archipel/Wertschatz).

I haven't checked the auction page in a while. It is nice that they have more information posted about the foals.
The Rubinstein filly (#85) is now missing from the list.

Bumping up. Auction starts today. They have been very good about putting the prices up right away, so there should be some results from the first batch of foals and broodmares this evening or tomorrow morning.

One of my favorites, the Londontime colt (#110) went for 21000E!!!
I thought he was very cool. I wanted him!
I also loved #180
And you know who else I thought was kind of neat was the Quaid #131 filly who only sold for $7500. The neck looked short but nice moving. I am not familiar with Quaid other than he appears to be a jump sire? Does anyone have anything to share about him?
