Vineyridge you rock! You are a veritable fountain of knowledge.
My mare is Landa Cotton by Chief of Dixieland out of Irish Minnie.
She's not on the allpedigree.
I have her pedigree but I would love your analysis.
Thanks.

She's on Allbreed and pedigree query now. ;) Things I saw - in the damline, she goes back to the wonderful Teddy 4 times and picks up another fraction of Teddy through the sire's damline. I am almost entirely unfamiliar with the argentinian sire line, so I can't really help you there.

Thanks for the info.
Viney, please give me your thoughts. I'd love to know.
And could someone explain the Dosage Index?
Thanks.

Dosage is sort of a way to express "pedigree power". Points are given by how many "Chef-de-Race" stallions your horse has in the first four generations. A "Chef-de-Race" stallion is one that is known for siring extremely well. Round Table, Princequillo, and Danzig are examples of "Chef-de-Race" stallions.
They are put into five categories: Brilliant, Intermediate, Classic, Solid, and Professional. Brilliant = sprinters basically. Professional = long distance/stamina sires. Classic is right in the middle. A "Chef-de-Race" can have points in one or two categories. If they are in two, the points are divided between the two categories.
1st generation .... 16 points
2nd generation .... 8 points
3rd generation .... 4 points
4th generation .... 2 points
So, if the horse's sire is a "Chef-de-race", they get 16 points and on down.
Your mare's is 2-5-3-0-0 (10), which means she has 2 in Brilliant, 5 in Intermediate, and 3 in Classic.
The dosage index is the ratio of speed points to stamina points.
Your mares is DI = 5.67, so basically she has 5.67 times the speed points to stamina points.
The Center of Distribution is the balancing point of all the numbers in the profile. Basically it tells you how many furlongs are ideal for the Thoroughbred to run. There is a scale where basically 0 = 12 furlongs, so a mile. And the CD "tips" the scale one way or the other.
Your mare's CD is 0.90 so her "ideal distance" is about 7 to 8 furlongs.
Here is a page that explains in a lot more detail though: http://www.thoroughbredchampions.com/dosage/index.htm

If you really want Viney to chime in, you might send her a PM or change the title to include her name or the word "TB pedigree" (which isn't a guarantee, but this thread title isn't very clear). She LOVES Teddy for sport, which is why I know of him, but she is a veritable fount of information!!
