For my birthday, my grad student gave me a t shirt with a skull and crossbones - the crossbones are two pipetting devices - which she bought after hearing me wax rhaphsodic over the Lettia skull and crossbones saddle pad.

Then, my undergrads chipped in and bought me the flip version (I had purchased blackskulls on white, they got me the white skulls on black).

And..and..COREENE, ever tasteful, found me the perfect accessory (see below).

Of course, there's a schooling show in September I'm thinking about...maybe this would be the best opportunity???

See below? Is there supposed to be a link or attached picture of this accessory? Inquiring minds want to know....

I love it!!! You should totally go for it...be different and stand out in the crowd!

I've been coveting that saddle pad for the past two months since I saw it at Saddlery Liquidators. I'd love to get it and use it at our next hunter schooling show, but I think that my BO might have a heart attack and not allow me to ride in the trailer with them if I do so.

I wonder what Aunt Esther would say? ;)

Aunt Esther would keel over, shielding her eyes all the way down.

Nicole, are you jealous? I will be so geeked out!

And polo wraps!

(super jealous, by the way ;) - if I didn't already have one thousand and one saddle pads, I would order this one: http://thehaughtyhorse.com/skull-saddle-pad.aspx)

You simply MUST be decked out entirely in skull and crossbones wear for your next schooling show. Really, it's a public service, seeing as Ted is deadly handsome - he should come with a warning!

The socks are only good if I can wear them over my boots..curses! Foiled again!

I NEED one of these. I do.

Okay...bookmarked..when the next manuscript gets sent out, I get to self gift.

It can be Ted's "grazing in the mist slash hosing off when it's really hot" halter.

Then his current one can be donated to one of our groups with Special Horses.

See? It's all good!!!

Ooh, Ooh, Ooh... you must check out the expanded line of matching accessories. :D

http://www.saddlesource.com/proddetail.asp?prod=6606&cat=213

They also have matching boot bags, helmet bags, bridle bags and garment bags!! I think Aunt Esther would approve of all the bags. You must carry your things in matching style.

DD has the saddle pad and the baby pad. I have been wanting to get her the saddle cover but I think that maybe her trainer is already mortified over the saddle pads enough.

We give out a "best turned out" award at our shows....since the area was ..ummm...letting itself go a bit (dirty horses, sloppy dressing, etc)...we started to give a gift certificate to the best turned out pair (horse and rider)...not necessarily the most expensive or high brow just the cleanest horse, tack and presentation! I hope it has an inspiring effect.

My horse proudly sports his skull baby pad with flame polo wraps.....I may have to purchase the skull ones so he matches. Some of the lesson kiddies suggested that I dress him up as a biker for Halloween.

These are the same lesson kiddies that stopped me from purchasing the skull halter the last time we went to Rick's--spoilsports.:lol::lol:

I have to say the saddle covers are really nice, too! There's one with smiley faces and one with peace signs that I gave a good long look!

The socks are only good if I can wear them over my boots..curses! Foiled again!

Get the VERY tall socks and have them so they peek out over the tops of your boots like all the young teenagers do around here. Very cool!

Ted, it could be much, much worse... A paddock buddy of mine, a young Paint, was forced to wear a cowprint saddle pad to his first dressage (schooling) show. His owner thought it looked cute with his brown and white patches. Fortunately, the Paint is too young and too dumb to know the difference.

Or your owner could be a Harley Davidson fanatic...

Chin up! Wear your COTH GOTH gear with pride.

Signed,
Max, age 4
