Current horse's papers say he his a Royal Dutch Warmblood... can anyone shed some light on how that differs from a plain ol' DW? :)

Where on the papers does it say that?

Standard registration papers for (royal) Dutch warmbloods say "KWPN - Koninklijke Vereniging Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland." And underneath that, if your horse is registered in the USA, it will say that "this horse is registered with the KWPN of North America (with address)".

Koninklijke = Royal, but the word "Royal" is not used on standard Dutch Warmblood registration papers.

How's that for a long explanation? :-)
