Is this indicative of poor ground manners all around or somewhat normal stallion behavior at this age?

what you see is anxiety from being away from his herd...there is nothing strange (or stallion like)about that

they have allowed his foolishness this long and now he's dangerous to handle....he needs to be made to understand that being away from them is not going to get him eaten by whatever he is afraid of....
