They are a bit pricey, but also intriguing...Has anyone used one? If so, what did you think?

I have one. My saddle always slipped on my hard-to-fit mare, and with the Eco Gold pad I didn't even need a breastplate.

IMHO, they look like expensive pads made of $3 shelf lining.

Two posts, and two wildly divergent opinions--already!
Gotta love COTH! :D

I have the one made for the Devoucoux Chiberta.
I think it is a bit odd looking, but I still love it. It wicks moisture super well and stays put on the horse's back, and the quality of the material is great.

Might want to look at one in person before forming an opinion (but hey, that would be against the american way I guess). It's a bit heavier-duty than shelf lining, and that material is underneath, with a colored mesh top layer.

I know my mom uses them - as in only them. I bought her a similar Barnsby one for her bday and she never used it. She swears by them. Good reviews here.

I actually have seen them in person and I think the cost of the product was a bit extreme for what it is (basically a very fancy nonslip pad). For the same price you could buy a Supracor, Thinline, or any other pad that provides shock absorption along with the nonslip attribute. :)

I have never had one personally but a friend of mine did, and she said they were horrible to get clean.

I love them....but yes, they are hard to keep clean.

why?

why?
The material just doesn't clean very well. Dirt rubs into it, and no amount of cleaning it seems to turn it white again. So the underside of mine is now quite brown. Luckily the top (visible side) doesn't look so bad...yet.
