The opening day to send in your entries to the AEC's is tomorrow. Who is going?
I qualified for BN for the third time, so this will be our third trip to Lamplight. This year, my goal is to make it around cross country without a TE. I will look ahead over the ditch. I will look at each black on yellow number, before I jump a jump. If I have to walk my course 5 times, so that I do not make that mistake again, I will do it. "Senior moment" is no longer in my vocabulary or a viable excuse. LOL. I am trying positive affirmations. I will let you know if they actually work. :)
Hopefully, the weather will stay dry. The AE "Seas" of last year need to stay a bad memory. This year, I am more concerned that Chi town may be having an early Winter.
Do you think that the number of entries will be low, because of the economy?

If I go, it will be as a spectator/volunteer. Alas, we are not competitive at any level. Hopefully the three (!) dressage shows I'm doing in the next month will help . . . but now I have to wait until the show comes closer to home again. ;)

I'm bringing both my horses. One in Beginner Novice, and the other in Novice. I really hope it's not as wet as last year. My jump saddle didn't dry out for a week!

Sigh... I don't think so. My goal this year is to move up to T, not go to AECs at N. So I need to put my $$ and time into that. But it does look like fun...

It's not going to happen for me this year. The plan is to bust my butt qualifying for next year's AEC's since they're at chattahoochee hills which is so close to me. Good luck to everyone competing this year though!!!!

I know there will be several riders from Woodlands in Oklahoma going - follow the "riders" link below - and Mrs. KS & I will be there as part of the organizing crew (you'll recognize me by my Brit accent as Flight Check's back up & that I'll probably be toting at least 2 radios).
Hope to meet you, DW, I've read & agreed with most of your postings over the years. In fact, maybe we could convince our esteemed Chronicle Proprietor to set up a "meet & greet" at the AECs for subscribers & forum members....

I qualified in N (woo, hoo!), but I'm with Cookie....I'm going to bust my arse to try to get to T and a T3D next year. So I'm skipping the AEC's.
BUT.....
I am going to the Chronicle of the Horse Adult Team Challenge at the KY Classique! I have wanted to ride at the KY Horse Park ever since I first went five years ago...so dang it, I'm going to do it this year!
Have fun all you AEC folks! I hope the weather cooperates, and that everyone has a wonderful time!

on our way east. DD has qualified. DH has too, but I don't think he will take his horse along on the trip for one event. We'll see.

Would love to go and I definitely qualified :D, but I had to pick one big trip for the fall and I decided to aim my money and time for the Midsouth CCI* LF (or P3D, whichever format they decide to run it in) in October. I think the AECs is gonna be my big goal for next year...I'm only now starting to be competitive in the dressage portion, so I feel like by the time I spend another year at prelim, I have a chance to be competitive at the AECs! Plus, I go to Maui Jim every year, and I'd really like to go to another place other than Lamplight. Not that Lamplight isn't fabulous, but I just want to go to another place.

I qualified, but I most likely will not go. My horse is good at dressage, but he is not spectacular and in order to be competitive at Novice, it really seems like you have to have a stellar dressage test.

This morning, I got my entry sent in through evententries.com. I have the signed paperwork ready to mail, too.
Please keep positive thoughts for great weather? ;)

There's now a tentative AEC schedule up on the website: http://www.aecatlamplight.org/2009-schedule.htm
How about getting together on Thursday evening? - maybe we can get RAyers to contribute Flutie's case of beer!
