Can anyone shed a little light on this girl's pedigree in terms of soundness, movement, jumping ability, etc? I know you guys get a lot of these!

The only names I really recognize in there are Conquistador Cielo and Devil's Bag... I think I've seen them in connection to eventers but I'm not sure.

Anything you like, in particular? Hate?

Picture (http://canterusa.org/midatlantic/salephotos/DiablosDevil1.jpg)... it's hard to get a good idea because she's sort of in motion... it would be better if she were standing but I like what I see (assuming her left front is just in the process of bending and she's not always that far over at the knee!)... perhaps a short neck?

How about this guy?? http://www.pedigreequery.com/crazy+vicky

I like the look of him (and REALLY like his pedigree) but it's hard to tell because the feet are hidden.

I like her! I don't think she is short necked at all, just the way her head is bending.
She looks very athletic, love her big hip and shoulder angles.

My gelding show hunter's grandsire is Conquistador Cielo and he's very athletic, a good mover, and has a great jump. He's quite opinionated and not the easiest ride but he's super smart and he knows his job. He had 49 starts and retired sound and is still going strong (knock on wood) at 14 with no maintenance.

My father has a broodmare with Devil's Bag as her grandsire and she was a successful race horse and retired sound. Her first foal was absolutely gorgeous with the best temperament but unfortunately she stepped on him and broke a sesamoid. He's now two and sitting in a pasture for another year healing with a lady who hopes to make a walk/trot horse out of him. Her second foal is also nice and we've got our fingers crossed.

I like the mare better. She's bred for distance. I don't know the lines well but she looks like she'd have the stamina and she's nicely uphill. Good luck and let us know how it goes with her. I think she's a fine looking mare, nicely uphill. I'd love to see photos once she's out of race weight!

The bay is certainly of much more "poplular" lines but I have ridden several Mr. Prospector grand-babies and have not been terribly impressed. They're sort of a mixed bag. I know he's extremely popular in TB pedigrees right now but I don't really seek him out as a sire of eventers... I've worked with four full sibs from one of his sons that are NOTHING alike. Seeing his name in a pedigree doesn't mean a thing to me because it doesn't mean anything consistently in the offspring. I've seen some very nice ones but I don't assume it's going to be nice just because his name is there.

I like Wekiva Springs (if you're not biased against grays) and Buckpasser/Buckaroo/Tom Fool lines for nice moving sport horses - just a personal bias - but I wouldn't kick that chestnut out of my barn either.
