I'm looking to replace my good, old, finally getting worn out (they are older than I am) cotton quilted wraps. Has anyone used the Centaur (http://www.equestriancollections.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=ER11949R) ones? I'm looking for something sturdy enough to be able to turn a horse out with it on if I need to. Definitely don't want pillow or no-bows. Thanks! :)

I don't like quilts much at all, but of the ones I've seen, if I had to use some, it would be Jacks.

Unfortunately, the Jack's only come in the 12" size (my horse is 17+ hh) and aren't cotton. :(

Try Dover. http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-2620&ids=560667076
I LOVE these. I took them through several PC testings, too ;)
They seem to conform well, but breath better than no bows. They held up to me shipping in them for several years, as well as stable bandages when my horse cut/sliced/banged her legs!
Good luck!

I've got those Kaytaz86 and love them for standing/ shipping wraps, but would never turn out in them. I'm looking for something much more thin. Think of a square of your grandmother's quilt only with more batting and you've got it. The Centaurs look like what I want, they just aren't carried locally and I don't know anything about the quality. Anyone? :)

I have a terrible time finding quilts like that myself. Ours are all very elderly.
Last time we got some, husband found them at a racetrack with a trailer vendor. They had all kinds of special racing stuff, sweats, linement, and these quilted wraps. They did have them in sizes too, since our horses are large, with very short front cannons. We use shorter wraps in front, with taller ones behind.
The wraps were just in plastic bags, no names I could see, not terribly expensive. I am real picky on my wraps, with too many very thick or too thin. Like Goldilocks said, these wraps from the track were "just right".
It was a Standardbred track, and wraps were great quality, have been used a bunch, still look pretty nice. Maybe check out racing suppliers for these good wraps. I have had no luck with the riding suppliers, in finding what I want.

I can't figure out how to link to the page, but Big Dee's has some that look good. Thin, quilted, but not too thin. Not pillow wraps and not no-bows. You might want to have a look! :)

OK, I think I know what you mean...my first pony had some like that. I have no idea where to find them though :( Good luck!

I'll check Big Dee's. I've been to a couple of the local race supply stores, but will check out at Fennel's at the Red Mile harness track- thanks for that idea goodhors! These would definitely be old school :)
