I need some new cordless clippers for clipping babies and young horses. What is quiet and the best deal for the money?

since i have star listers and a perfectly functioning pair of a-5s, i didn't want to spend a lot of $$ buying a pair of cordless clippers... two things i noticed is they are expensive and some are really heavy, so you might want to pull them out of the case and carry them for a few minutes. i wanted reasonable and a clipper that used my extensive collection of a-5 blades - from a 5 to a 40, and between the corgi, the hb baby anf my old hunter, i use a lot of diff't blades, so i didn't want to buy another collection (gee, go figure,at $20 a pop).
that turned out to not be an option, so i settled on a light duty cordless laube with an adjustable blade, so we got cheap but not compatible with my a-5s, but no need to buy 4 more clipper blades either.

the blade that adjusts from 8 to 40 and has some snap on grooming blades if yours does double duty clipping the corgi like mine, it's light, it's quiet, has 2 batteries and a fast/slow charger that charges both batteries, and it was $106. i was skeptical at first, but it sure is nice to have an adjustable blade while you are working on a horse, especially an hb baby.

I have the Wahl Arco Moser clippers. http://www.smartpakequine.com/ProductClass.aspx?productclassid=1342
I really like them, but they are not as quiet as advertised. However, once I got into the barn where all the fans were turned on, you couldn't hear a thing. I clipped all 3 of my horses; noses, ears, bridlepaths, ankles, and not a peep out of any of them. Usually at least one will throw a temper tantrum, but I don't even think they knew they were being clipped.
I just saw an ad for these clippers cheaper than the link I posted, but now I can't remember where. I want to say Dover, as crazy as that sounds.;)

I'm an Arco fan as well. I have used them to clip a whole pony before. He hated anything loud and was very ticklish and had to be clipped for pony finals without any drugs. After he kicked my other clippers and broke them, I had to improvise and the Arcos were all I had that were quiet enough. It took a while but he looked great.
For corded clippers I like the Andis brand best. They are light, quiet, and the blades are easy to find. I have 3 sets of them, including the new ones with the LED lights (AWESOME).I had a set of Lister Stars and they did a great job, but the blades were $20 more a set and had to be ordered ahead of time. I clip a lot of hunt horses and can't wait for blades, I need to be able to get them at the local tack store.

Listers cordless clippers are fantastic. I used mine to clip horses all winter several on one day sometimes and they have gone on for years. Premier 1 make a version of their own which probably are good as they make sheep shearing equipment.
