Peter Leone is coming to equine affair in MA this year, and I'm thinking of submitting an application to ride with him. If anyone has ridden with him, can you tell me what his clinics are typically like? Thanks!

My 13 year old daughter did the clinic over at Carol Thompson's. I train alot of ponies (I'm 4'11) and break and start a fair amount of horses for the show ring, plus teach...Peter was excellent! My daughter had a good time on her large green and I stole a bunch of his ideas. He's got a nice personality to boot. Highly recommended!

I've audited full days at his clinic (but don't ride in that discipline; I was watching some friends). I thought he was very supportive, helpful and interesting. Not a screamer. Some riders thought he talked a lot, but in a large group that happens. He spent a good 1/2 hour on flatwork, with a variety of exercises, and then had the riders jump individually, working on their lines, timing, angles, etc. Very rarely he would ride a horse to demonstrate something. Most of the riders improved quite a bit during the sessions.
