Anyone ever take halters for repair at Bartville Harness? I would call them and ask but it's tricky to get them on the phone.

I am wondering what the procedure is like. It's a bit of a drive for me and I am happy to make the trip but don't want to go there and find out they can't do the repairs. I've only previously ever dealt with them through the mail, but we're talking a big old box of halter and it's probably more of a PITA to ship.

Say I have 10-12 halters that all need something. Either a simple thing like a plate attached or something more complex like having a broken snap removed and replaced. Is that the sort of thing they'll do while I wait? Or am I going to have to drop the halters off and come back another day and get them. I really don't mind either way, just want to know what to expect.

I would suspect with that many you will have to come back for them. But I am interested in how much it costs to get a halter snap replaced. I have one that I love, but I hate the snap. Let me know if you end up going :).

It's unlikely that you will find their business slow enough that you can wait for the repairs.

If taking them there and having them ship back to you is an option you might consider that. If they don't expect you they surely won't be able to do it while you wait. You would be lucky to get them to do that for one halter, if it takes more than 30 minutes I imagine they may be already committed. I've always had to go back for my stuff, even small repairs.

That's not a bad idea, I can even do Click'n'Ship with the postage so all they have to do is tape up the box and drop it at a post office. They wouldn't have to pay for it or stand in line to mail it out or anything.

I take stuff there for repair from work all the time. I've had them fix stuff while I was there (they've also made stuff that they didn't have in stock for me while I was waiting- halters, lead shanks, etc.) however I wouldn't plan on them being able to do that. They will definitely ship it back to you though. Prices are more than reasonable- usually under $5 for a repair.

I dropped off a box full of halters, reins and other random repairs. They called me when they were finished and are now shipping it back to me but I could have went to pick it up if I wanted. Very reasonable price in my opinion and I love their work/leather/customer service.
