Dusk to Dawn Mercury Vapor Lights

I have a dawn to dusk mercury vapor outdoor security light outside my barn. Twice in the last year, after a lightning storm, my light no longer worked properly, it just stayed on constantly even during the day. It wasnt struck by lightning but there were alot of bright flashes close by. Hubby bought a new sensor but it still didnt work right so we have had to buy a whole new light both times. Hs anyone else had this problem with those lights? I cant figure out what the problem is with these things! :confused:

If it's one of the inexpensive ones, they're expendable items. The electronics are somewhat sensitive to surges.

Haven't had a problem with it staying on, the only issue with mine is that it seems to come on at different times, I guess it depends on how dark it is out. Some nights it is early, some night it is later.
