Can someone recommend to me a trainer in this area? We have a 3 year old hanoverian gelding moving down there temporarily with my sister and we need someone to help get him going solid on the flat (you know, the 3 year old basics). Someone with plenty of experience with young horses, as he isn't the easiest three year old God ever placed on the planet ;)
Thank you!

Hi there. My trainer, Susan Wainwright, is in Montgomery which is about 40 minutes down the interstate from Auburn. She has competed at the Advanced level in eventing and also at the upper levels of dressage. She's super with the young green horses and really puts a good base on them on the flat. She is currently competing on one of her homebreds with whom she won the American Eventing Championships a few years ago. I believe he's working at 4th level now. She does an awesome job producing horses that are light and obedient. Just a few weeks ago I watched her doing canter half pass and pirouettes.... in a hackamore. Maybe I'm biased, but I think she's fabulous:D. PM me if you want any more details or contact info.

Another thumbs way up for Susan W. (I may be biased too, as she's my trainer as well, but she really does ROCK!). The only other great dressage trainer in the area is Judy Pirtle at SuCaro Ridge Farm, and her asst. trainer Christine Prescott, but I don't think they take young horses.
Forgot to add that Judy Pirtle is in Tuskegee, which is only about 20 minutes from Auburn, but again, I don't think they take too many young/green horses.
