Does anyone have information/photos for these two Lusitano studs:
Peperone do Top
Urque
They are both studs I've found offspring that I quite like several times but I can't seem to find any information on them. I swear I'm going to start learning Portuguese!!

Isn't the Do Top suffix Interagro? I might be wrong. Certainly it is Brazil, might be one of the other large breeders.
I know several Do Tops, the one I know best and have ridden is Paragrapho. Kind, intelligent and extremely competitive.

do Top is not Interagro. It is from Tonico Pereira's stud farm. The Interagro horses have the surname Interagro.
Cavalo Real has a couple foals by Urque, so maybe try contacting them for more information?

I hate bugging people when it's not their stallions I'm interested in :\.
I guess it's a good thing though if I keep finding offspring I like, then realising they are studs I picked out for my mare :) At least I'm consistent...
Does anyone know if there is a Lusitano online registry like Gescab?
I did fine that Peperone is the get of Afiancado De Flandes.

I don't think there is an online database, but you could email IALHA and ask them.
Are those the only two stallions you are looking at? What is your mare like? I have a yearling half-Luso filly by Lusiadas and out of my appendix QH mare. I adore her!

Oh No, I'm looking at LOTS of stallions (we're not going to breed for 3-4 years still). Could you post a photo of your filly? :D I'm in LOVE with Lusiadas and I think he'll be my first choice! (His half-bro Lavrador is no slouch either!).
IALHA is a good idea, I'll try them :).

If you're shopping that far out, get a subscription to Conquistador. It's pricey, but has good ads, and a listing of breeders.
Joining the IALHA is sort of worth it... the magazines aren't all that informative, but again, ads, a yearly stallion issue, and a breeder directory. ;)
If you are down in New England at all, stop and see Paragrapho. He is AMAZING. ;) He's in Merrimac, MA. Impeccably kind and rideable, and siring absolutely stunning babies.

Nes, I HIGHLY recommend Luke. Not only is he a lovely horse, but he really tends to stamp his foals. And JP is a delight to work with.
Luke has a 3-yo son who was recently sold to Canada that is absolutely amazing to watch. He is possibly even nicer than his sire.
I have some pictures of my filly here: http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o165/shiloh04/annie/
Just keep in mind that she is a yearling, so she's in an awkward stage. She's currently 14h and change, and she is 15 months old. Dam is 15.2h. She takes much more after Luke than she does after her mom, both in appearance and in personality. She's friendly to the point of being a pest, and is very smart and level-headed (which she did not get from her mom).
JP also recently posted video of two of Luke's foals from this year. They are on his youtube.
I have heard some less-than-wonderful reviews of Sons of the Winds in MA though (they stand Paragrapho). I would be careful in dealing with them.
PM me if you want any more info about my filly. I keep meaning to get some video of her, but I haven't actually done it.

HB! I've been waiting for new pics of her! She is GORGEOUS. Look at those legs! A pretty head too. I love Luke's head. Is she light bay or dark buckskin? Not that it matters... she is really, really pretty. And I wish *my* yearlings looked so 'awkward.' :D
He is on my short list as well, for Aztecas.
I think the Iberian world in the US is a very small one. Just about every one has heard 'things' about the others. ;) I just try to keep an open mind and as long as the SO isn't nuts, (like, hurt the reputation of *my foal* nuts  ) I try to base my decisions on the individual stallion, not the SO.

She is light bay. I have only ever seen her shade of bay and the golden buckskin from Luke, unless of course the mare passes grey.
Yes, for a yearling, she is very un-awkward. Her neckset was higher as a foal, but that is really the only awkward thing about her. She runs around with her nose on the ground, hind end engaged, all on her own. And she's just got a good brain. I've never seen a horse follow around someone with wormer or vaccines. She's been a pretty easy foal.

She's very beautiful HB - I can't wait to see her all grown up! I was completely sold on Luke after watching him move on video  just gorgious - you've got to get a video of your filly! :D
JP has done an excellent job promoting his stallions on his website. I was watching Luke's boy Adonis being broken, and didn't realize until the end that he was only 2!! (at which point I practically fell off my chair...). Sounds like your girl has the same kind of brains, wow.
What is the name of the colt that was sent to Canada?
I'll look into Conquistador too - that's a good idea! :D.

It was Adonis who was sold to Canada. He wasn't for sale, but someone came with a good home and offered more than JP could really refuse from what I remember him saying. I saw him being free-lunged at 2.5 years (about 6 months after that video), and he was just spectacular. JP was very pleased with him. I saw him a bit as a yearling, and he has just gotten nicer and nicer as he's gotten older.
I'll try to get a video taken today.

Keep in mind that this whole "free lunging" thing is something I have never worked on with her, and I don't have a proper arena or a round pen.

She gets the legginess from dad. I dunno if you looked at the other albums, but the one marked Lucy is her dam. NOT leggy. Lucy is built like a tank.
We had to take about 10 videos to get anything other than her cantering, which is her preferred gait when walking doesn't do it, or eating grass. And that's just her middle-of-the-road trot. You should see her showing off trot, which is closer to a passage. She likes to show off for the neighbor's QH gelding who was a stallion for a while. Quite the ham.
