Anyone have any inspection results to report so far?

How did the inspection in VA go yesterday? Was there a photographer there?

My colt by Apiro out of my TB mare Pavones received a premium and was the Colt Champion of the Silverwood inspection. Unfortunately, he was inspected before a lot of people got there so only a few people saw him. I was heading down to the breed show in Lexington with my other mare and foal and had to take him back to the farm before the inspection ended.

Both Starlight foals were premium today at this inspection site!! One filly was out of a TB mare and the other out of an Arabian mare.

I heard the over all quality of the site was very high. I know there were a couple extremely nice Quarterback foals there as well, that were rewarded with a premium status.

Congrats to everyone at the Ocala site. I'll be sure to keep my web-site updated with the latest inspection results regarding Starlight & Lullaby foals.

Was thrilled with the weather, horses, participants :) etc.

The inspection was a good size with approximately 15 foals (this is a bit of a guess) but there was at lest 5 in each the filly and colt call back and 3 that had left for the show and 2 who where not full book eligible.

Twin Willows Farm's foal was site colt champion, unfortunately I didn't get to see him go. Lauren Dearlove's filly by Sempatico was filly site champion! My colt by Sempatico out of Abracadabra was premium (I believe there where only two premium colts) Then my filly by Sempatico out of Decoupage also went premium. A filly by Sempatico out of Deco's Favorite bred by Sabine Bibb went premium. I believe there was one other premium filly, but I can't remember her breeding or name of the top of my head. Always running around like a chicken with my head cut off when you host, so hope others take notes. There where several very impressive mares and all of the foals got super remarks, the few who didn't make premium where very nice and almost where - just one or two things at that moment in time. Certainly showed a lot of wonderful breeding programs out there, congrats to everyone, well done!

I have my own mini inspection report now!

A friend of mine took her Rosenthal yearling filly and a Rosenthal colt from this year to the Ocala inspection. Her '09 colt got a premium! Same friend bred the the colt champion from the Silverwood inspection so it was a super great weekend for her! She also said there were some wonderful horses at this inspection. The quality was outstanding.

I loved Pavones when she was in FL and I am sooo excited to hear about Albi's good weekend!! Congrats TWF!

Congratulations, everyone!

I have seen many WB foals this year that were foaled out at my vet's farm and have been very impressed by the quality. My vet, too, said it has been an excellent year.

Whispered Wish Weser-Ems had an exciting weekend. Our oldest colt, Burberry (aka Bon Jovi) was licensed as a Weser-Ems stallion. He is the first US born Weser-Ems pony to be approved as a breeding stallion. He is by Bodyguard (Black Boy) out of Bundeschamp. finalist Conda (Chamberlain).

At the Yancey Farms inspection we earned three premium awards with our Chardonnay colt, Voyager filly and Wedderlie Mardi Gras colt. From a pony standpoint it was great to have 5 Weser-Ems foals of very high quality at one inspection site. A great weekend!

Did you get Bon Jovi at the Highlife auction? I was there and he was really cute.

I did buy him from Highlife as a weanling. We have called him Burberry since then and he is now having an official name change. He really developed into a beautiful boy over the years and I am thrilled he is now a licensed stallion. Here are a couple videos of him after 30 days of training.

That makes me happy, because those 2 foals were out of the mare Bostons Dancer she got from me.
I heard Judy had a huge turn out.

It was a great day under the granddaddy oaks in Ocala. There were so many nice horses and ponies. Congratulations to all of the breeders and owners! It was a relief that it didn't rain as we had tons of rain all week!

I brought two foals and a yearling. I was very pleased with Holly's comments on all of them. My husband video'd and captured my yearling leaping the potted flowers - a classic moment!

The Vermont inspection held on July 14th at Vermont Warmbloods went really well. There were 4 foals that went premium. Here's the list:

Riveaux - Colt (Routinier / Michellino) owned by Frogs Leap Farm
Ironeer - Colt (Ironman / Silvio owned by Vermont Warmbloods
Arissa - Filly (Starlight / Rubinstein) - Vermont Warmbloods
Roulette - Colt (Rhodes Scholar / Martini) - Vermont Warmbloods
(Roulette was also awarded the "with distinction" award.

There were several great quality foals and horses there and everyone was pleased with the results.

Congratulations Vermont Warmbloods, on your foalcrop. I have a Starlight filly this year - and can see the resemblance to your gorgeous girl.
I notice you are a Rhodes Scholar fan (your Olivier gelding from a Rhodes Scholar mare looks very much like a Rhodes Scholar gelding I bred, years ago).
Now you have had a wonderful Rhodes Scholar colt. I would love to see pictures. Many don't realize what a great stallion Rhodes Scholar was - twice competing at the Bundeschampionates, also representing the Hanoverian Breed at the World Young Horse Championships, and then listed in the top 1% (7th highest index) of German Dressage Sires in 2008, in spite of a limited breeding career. He died too young.
Please put pictures of your RS colt here or on your website. I'd love to see him.
PS - I think your mares are all super, too.

Thanks so much, Sunny Days! You certainly brought some sunshine into my life. I met Rhodes Scholar in 2004 and fell instantly in love. He was not only beautiful, but he was a true sweetheart. I was fortuitous enough to have purchased his semen at that time and he is now safely in my tank on the farm. The fact that he's a Rohdiamant son was most compelling and I travelled around searching for his offspring. The filly that we imported for my friend Gayle is now the love of her life and has given her 2 gorgeous babies - one by Olivier and one by Coco Cavalli. Both are seriously nice. This colt (not for sale) is smart and wonderful to watch. Ludger, the inspector, stated several times that he looked like Rohdiamant. He said with that eye and movement, he would be a professional's horse with a brain for an amateur. I was soooo proud. He was only 3 weeks old at the inspection and I was seriously shocked when they awarded him the foal of distinction award and named him site champion. Holly, by the way, excused herself from the ring when he came in so that the decisions would be objective. He strutted around the ring like the little Prince that he knew himself to be. The inspectors stated that for a smallish inspection (only14 animals), the quality was very high. Please excuse the shameless brag, but the chance to do so comes so rarely!!!

At the Quebec inspection one mare was awarded Oldenburg Mare of Distinction and Premium. I can't remember her score, but she was a very, very nice mare. Apostrophe by Any Tyme out of magic Melodie by Figaro, bred and owned by A. Dubois Brossard.
One colt was awarded premium and he was Handle by Huno (Trakehner) out of Pippa. Bred and owned by Lyne Joly.

Vtwmbld -- Not a shameless brag - a well deserved one! And as you say, the chance comes so rarely. You must exult to the fullest. Sadly, our joys must support us through the hard times that are an inevitable part of breeding and loving horses. I'm very happy for you.

We also had a great day! For the most part our inspection is for my horses only and we like to consider it a day of rest for the inspectors. We did have one outside mare and foal who missed the inspection at Vermont Warmbloods so, she decided to come to us. Peg Pifers colt by Olivier out of a Hanoverian mare was awarded a premium.
Three out of four of my foals were awarded premium.
Walinde by Starlight out of my beautiful Waldrose (Lafitte-Argentinus) Bay filly
Annike By Starlight out of Angelina (Goldfuerst-Frulingstrunk) Black filly
Skeeter By Stibby-Me (Weser-ems) out of Galiana (Goldfuerst-Gambrinus) Bay colt and the cutest thing you have ever seen!

Annike was awarded the "Foal of distinction " award.

I also have an exceptional colt by L'Andiamo out of my Grundstein-Bolero mare that, had he been eligible, would have also been a premium. Unfortunatly L'Andiamo was not performance tested so his foals are not eligible for the premium ring.
The inspection team was also very impressed with the quality of the L'Andiamo foals at Cornell. I spoke to Carol Collyer yesterday and she about brought me to tears........wonderful stallion! Carol also told me that they still have a few L'Andiamo foals that are not spoken for yet!

I am impressed with my two Starlight fillies.........really beautiful and both are exceptional movers. Annike was born on July 2 so was quite young to be inspected but she did her thing and the "team" loved her long legged elegance.

All in all a fun day!

Congratulations, Ann. You always have such nice babies, I'm sure they were duly impressed. The Starlight foals seem to all be going Premium. Good for Rick! Do you also find them to have unusually good dispositions? I only have one, so it's not fair to judge, but she's sooooo good. I'd love to hear from other Starlight grandmas/pas out there. I'm sorry I didn't get to see the Olivier foal, as I'm partial to that stallion, as you know. I think he consistently improves on the mare. PM me if you wish, but I'd love your feedback.

Yes, I will get some pictures and try to post them. I am hopelessly computer challenged.
I have been meaning to update the website too. It is just so time comsuming as I have to go to my webmasters house and sit there while we download pictures and text! I need to figure out how to do it here.
I have a lot of news and great pictures of my foals in Germany that I would love to share.
Geoff, Congratulations on your beautiful foals! It is always such a boost to have all the hard work and endless hours rewarded with something as simple as "wonderful foal...premium!"
I know I need that!!!
Congratulations to all the breeders out there!

Geoff, we must have been posting at the same time! Shouldn't we be working or something? Lazy Saturday!
Yes, I agree. My Starlight fillies have super temperaments! My youngest filly has an umbilical issue and I have to give her shots. She is so patient and sweet! Usually they hate me and won't let me near them! She comes right up afterwards to be scratched!
I think Starlight does have 100% premium foals.

Congrats, Geoff and Ann. Sounds like you had wonderful inspections!

Ann, I have heard some nice things about the L'Andiamo foals through the years. It is such a shame he was unable to complete his performance requirements.

Geoff, lucky you to have a Rhodes Scholar foal. I adored that stallion - he was such a good looking guy, and what a big sweetie. It is a tragedy that he was lost so young, just when he was really starting to make his mark in the world.
