The entire organization has been revamped and new officers have come on board, and, thanks to equineartworks, they also have a new website:

http://excellerfund.org/

Go take a look - more pages to come, and more items being added - but come read and see what this organization has accomplished over the past few years - and not just for Thoroughbreds!

Looks great! :)

Still breaks my heart everytime I read about Exceller and Ferdinand - and all the others who meet the same fate .

Niki Smith has taken over as Executive Director. Some of you may remember her when she was at the Secretariat Center in Kentucky. She is out of town at the moment but will be posting this weekend.

In addition to the website, The Exceller Fund is also on Twitter - www.twitter.com/Excellerfund and on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/excellerfund and as a cause - http://apps.facebook.com/causes/203039?m=6d54c0aa&recruiter_id=42858153

The Exceller Fund is also proud to be providing retirement to these CANTER "warriors": Eye Pea Oh, Pal Joey, and Cumberland Gap. Their pages will be going up soon on the website. "Opie" and "The Gapper" need sponsors, and while CANTER is providing sponsorship for Joey, I know the folks at CANTER would very much appreciate some support for him!

Love the new website, especially the picture at the top.

The Exceller Fund is now the featured cause on my facebook page.

My apologies for the amount of time it has taken me to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Niki Smith and I am the (relatively) new Executive Director for The Exceller Fund. I am located in Lexington, KY and was previously with the TRF Maker's Mark Secretariat Center. We are trying very diligently to get more locals involved with The Exceller Fund; so if anyone out there would like to join us during events, foster one (or more!) of our horses, or even help out with some administrative duties, we'd love to have you on board with us!

With that being said, we wanted to make sure that you all are aware that we are still here and working harder than ever! We've had a few minor delays in getting the new website finished, but it is starting to really come together and should be finished very soon. We are certainly excited to share the finished product with everyone!

Thank you for your dedication to the horses!

And Exceller has fosters all over the country (in fact, Ted's first Secret Santa job was for an Exceller foster in Missouri, just a few hours away from us). One fun volunteer job would be to help inspect potential and current fosters - even better, for the budding photographers out there (or even established!) - you could visit any of the horses at a foster, take pics, and not only have that on the Exceller website, but you could blog or facebook (and post here too!) - I can tell you for a fact that while Exceller's main mission is to help TBs off the track, they have also facilitated bailouts and fostering for numerous other breeds. So you don't need to be a TB lover to support Exceller!

Shout out to any COTHers near Oklahoma City or Tulsa and are handy with a camera - We can use your help in getting good photos of horses looking for homes!

Contact Niki Smith and let her know. We are working out some bumps with our general e-mail address (it's now choked with spam!) - so please go to our "Contact Us" page on our website and send in your info if you're interested.

Thank you!!!!
