I didn't get a chance to go watch today, but it looks like N and T XC caused quite a few stops and time penalties!! Excited to go watch tomorrow, it's always such a lovely event.

My trainer is in 4th at her horse's first Advanced! :D
Looks like someone scored a "zero" in Open Training. DANG, this sport has gotten competitive!

One of my babies, Jack (A Jack of Hearts) is now going Intermediate (OI) ( I think this may be his first time at Intermediate) and is in 2nd after dressage, with Allison Springer.
I love Jackie.

Oh no. Poor Lisa. :( He was such a cool dude, and she loved him so. Such heartache. My deepest condolences.

Poor horse, poor rider. My trainer was getting ready to start XC when the pair finished, ears pricked, clean and fast. Then the horse just went down. :( :( :(

And they had been tied for first after the dressage, too. He was such a star. At least he was happy when he went. He was her horse of a lifetime. So sad. My heart is breaking for Lisa.

Well, today I crossed one of the billion ways to be eliminated off my list.
Yesterday day, Dante and I had our best dressage ever, in the rain no less. There's still room for improvement, but we improved almost 7 points from our dressage score at CO, scoring a 53.2. That put us in 4th out of 18 in the CIC*, which I was just thrilled over. It really felt like the pony turned over a leaf yesterday. He was relaxed and obedient the entire time except for the walk. So I was completely thrilled.
Today, the horse was FABULOUS. Jumped everything I asked despite hating the sucking, gripping mud. I was worried about the HUGE drop at the Maui Jim water but he jumped it well after taking a quick peek. Just wonderful. I come through the finish lines grinning ear to ear, sure that I had just moved up with a double clear round.
Except for the jump that I forgot to jump.
Oops.
So the good news is that I would have been 2nd had I not forgot a simple table. The horse has no clue that we got eliminated, he thinks we did a bang up job (and HE did!). The frustrating part is that we wasted our best dressage test to date...and I forgot a jump on course for the first time EVER. (I have an excellent memory usually.)
But, live and learn, right? At least I don't have to wake up at 5 am tomorrow.
ETA: I see that Maui Jim has me as an E right now, but it should definitely be a TE. Do you think they will change it if I ask them at the show office to change it to a TE for USEA results?

My deepest condolences to Lisa on the loss of such a wonderful partner. I've seen them at different events since last year and they were always such a joy to watch. They looked at the top of their game today going through the Maui Jim combination. So very sad...

Poor girl...what with the rolex/rule issue and now another fall, she has been having some hard luck lately. Glad she is okay.

Uni Griffon was a Welsh Cob (D) X TB bred by Carol McDonald here in Langley. For us who have watched Lisa come through Pony Club and bring this horse along it is a great loss.
At the top of their game and a future ahead of them. Lots of sympathy.
