I have a black dressage saddle that has been in storage for about 4 years.
I got it out to see if it fit my young horse,it did,the only problem with it is somehow it ended up with streaks on it.
Does anybody know of any touch up dyes that might work,I don't want to take it to anyone,I just want it to look a little better!

I would contact a competent leatherworker, preferably one versed in horse equipment. You want something that is not going to ruin either the saddle's leather OR your breeches. Replacing EITHER is going to cost A WHOLE LOT MORE than having the saddle touched up by a competent professional. Some things aren't WORTH home remedies...

I am sure more knowledgeable people can chime in but I have seen saddles where people tried home dye and it kills the leather. Someone tried to foist it off on me when I was shopping to a used saddle and I told them it was only suitable for the garbage. The leather looked buckled and as if it would start to crack
I would condition the saddle well and put it back to work
I suspect that the odd areas will start to blend in. Plus who notices when you are sitting in it?

I am going to a clinic next week, and this old saddle is the only one that fits my young horse.
I am not worried about my breeches!
Anybody have any ideas,to make this saddle look more presentable, this is a serious DQ barn!
Anything?

Can you borrow one in the mean-time? And seriously, who cares about it anyway? Have you tried cleaning and oiling?

Doc Bailey's Leather Black... heck, I'll have to google.
This stuff is a MIRACLE. It is not cheap, about $20 for a small bottle. But it is AMAZING for reblacking leather.
The only thing I cannot attest to just yet is how much it's going to rub off, because the saddle I'm refinishing does not fit any of MY horses... I can say I cannot rub it off with sweaty hands (tried) or damp rag. It does not come off when I clean it with Murphy's.
It is made for reblacking motorcycle gear--everything from seats to saddlebags to jackets. I just can't see motorcycle dudes being all that happy if it ran in the rain, ya know???
It's AMAZING, amazing stuff. I just wish they had it in shades of brown!!!
I have already done two bridles, my duty shoes, and a black leather jacket. The black leather jacket has daily wear in damp conditions--NO bleeding.
I am sold. I wish I could buy stock, because I think when horse people find out about this stuff, it's going to skyrocket.
