Just got word from the management that they will NOT be charging any POST ENTRIES this weekend for either of their shows. Whoopee

They said because of the holidays, the economy, and most of all because of all the BAD weather we have all had that it was time to come OUT and show. So this is their way of saying THANK YOU, and hope you wil come join them this week and have FUN!!

OAK, you should edit the title to read "NO POST ENTRY FEES!"

Agree with Island Girl. NO POST ENTRIES sounds like the show will NOT take any late entries, and that's a turn-off. It should read "NO POST ENTRY FEES" and that's a come-on.

Haha and I was freaking in about getting my entries in on time!
P.S. Which ring is ring 1? Is it the one behind the indoor?

Bravo to that show management for realizing not everybody can always plan for everything 4 weeks in advance. I hope many people now come out to support them. :D

I will probably get my head bit off ... but I feel the need to point out that I have some suspicion that this isn't just a kind gesture - most likely entries are light and horse show management is encouraging people to come. What leads me to reach this conclusion is that this is perhaps one of the only horse shows with such stringent requirements for pre-entering that it required that I include a blank check with my entry or that my entry will be considered late.

That being said - I think its great! Encourage more people to come out and show ... and generally its a well run horse show with nice people and a great facility. (theres my little plug for the horse show). However, I am just curious as to whether the horse show's generosity would extend to those of us who did follow the rules - entered on time and then determined for one reason or another not to show - to waive the scratch fee??? :)

Regardless - its just my opinion, and I hope people won't jump all over me ... I am not bashing the managment or anything here, as I stated above I think its great and will be there showing as I planned to be since June 30 when entries were "due" ;)

Oh I am sure there are other reasonings, but at least they are offering it. Some shows are sticking to the late entry fees regardless of their show sizes.

And I have always had to send in a blank check along with my entries so that doesn't seem unusal to me. Or else you wrote a check to cover all the fees (stall, jumper nom, etc...) & then left a blank check when you check in & pick up your number.

i will be ther friday and monday...and i DID pre enter-haha!
but nancy wallis makes GREAT courses and is a nice show to go to...they dont wont to rip you off, so whoever complained about it (not trying to be mean!) most likely does not know this horse show management.

come to the show! great courses, great people, greatly run!

I don't know of any rated show that has a pre-entry deadline that also doesn't require a blank check, or at least a check to cover non-refundable fees. Submitting a blank check with your pre-entry is the norm, not the exception, at least in this area.
