Got this in my e-mail. I don't get grossed out that easily. This made me squeal out loud.

***WARNING***THIS LINK HAS GRAPHIC PICS--The first one is not bad. The rest are really nasty. They said after 2 years the horse was ok for light riding.

I can't imagine a horse doing that much damage by stepping on himself.

Years ago I had a farrier that WOULD NOT put shoes on a horse that had clips on them for this very reason. :(
His then teenaged daughter had had a barrel horse that he put clipped shoes on and during a run, the horse caught the front foot with the back foot and damaged the front hoof so badly that they had to put the horse down. He said it took off most of the bottom and side of the horses foot.
