Help,

I need to make hotel reservations for this show and looking at the omnibus, it looks like it's mostly B&B's in the area. Does anyone have a recommendation of a inexpensive, but clean/safe, close hotel? If not, any idea of the rates for the B&B's? Trying to stick to a budget.
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried the Cottonwood Motel. It looks very clean and nice and safe! I think you will like it.

This is where we have always stayed. Now it is under new management and they are doing a great job, too. http://www.hilltophousebb.com/rooms.htm REALLY comfy, good breakfast, served early, close to Millbrook and VERY close to the Four Brothers. (yum)

This one is new, run by the lady who used to run Hilltop. She is absolutely DEAR. Hugh has since died and I'm not sure if Rosmarie is still there but give her a try. She is wonderful. She's right around the corner from Hilltop.http://www.alpenhausbedandbreakfast.net/

These are the closest we've found and have been staying in one or the other since about 1990. :)

For something different (and cheaper), you could try the Vassar Alumni House:

There are little Ladies Wing rooms with shared bath.

Try contacting Paul Lindsay at Cedar Crest Farm, I think he has accomodations at his farm which are used for equestrian vacations that you can rent for Millbrook, I think it's closer to the show grounds than most hotels? Here's the link (from Area 1 wsb site):

Don't be afraid of the "motels" around Millbrook. Most of them are very neat and tidy, not truck-stop/dive places (can't think of one that's not actually a B&B in disguise, off the top of my head). They are one of the few alternatives to B&Bs. Some villages also have old inns that still operate. None of it will be cheap, that I know of.

Have a dog in tow, don't know if the B&B's or Vassar Alumni house will work - but it looks cool. Cottonwood Motel is full - lady didn't even miss a beat when I said Aug. 5th. She did recommend a Days Inn another 15 minutes away - which will be about a 35 minute drive to the show grounds.

Twofatponies - if you can remember the other motel names, I will give them a call.

Thanks
